I heard about the UT thing too. But who in their right mind would want to live in Knoxville, that sh#% hole of a town?

Charlie Strong came from Gainesville, Florida...and there's no bigger sh#% hole in the United States than that place!

...who cares anyway, Louisville has not improved with CS as much as the Big Least diminished to the point that a loser like Louisville can share it's conference title. How else can you explain The Battle Of The Unranks vying for a conference (Big Least) championship?...that's the stuff of a Mid Major conference! smh

The Florida Gators will beat this garbage savagely!

Got Death Penalty?

Speaking of, since it's still fresh on your mind:

"University of Louisville president John Shumaker and nine of his top athletics officials pleaded with the NCAA Division I Infractions Committee Sunday not to impose a one-year "death penalty" shutdown of men's basketball over recruiting violations."

John Shumaker "PLEADED" for forgiveness..........wish I could have been a fly on the wall for THAT!

At least you didn't deny that it happened.

Like somebody once said, "cheating is cheating"......stones need not be cast.

Come on Creeker. This topic is about The Sugar Bowl.
Gheesh...sometimes.
Hey Chumps.....How would you know about Gainesville?
You have never made it out of Lessington.

Since cheating is cheating, and time past has nothing to do with it. Did you forget that your sacred school has infact been sanctioned with the DEATH PENALTY? As a matter of fact, UK set the standard by being the first school ever to receive it. Now that is tradition!

University of Kentucky Basketball — Death Penalty, 1952-53: Kentucky was the first basketball program to receive the death penalty, and it was well-deserved. The most serious issue that a sports team or organization can face is the influence of gambling and the game's resulting loss of integrity, so when it was revealed that Alex Groza, Ralph Beard and Dale Barnstable shaved points during the 1948-49 season, a season in which they won the national championship, severe action had to be taken. The NCAA ordered UK to cancel the 1952-53 season, the trio pleaded guilty to accepting $1,500 in bribes for gamblers, and a fourth player, Bill Spivey, was charged with perjury because he refused to testify against his teammates.

Furthermore, Barnstable was teaching and coaching at Manuel HS when it all shook out and was fired as a result.

Btw, almost only counts in horseshoes.

BooYah! GO CARDS!

You all know I am above board...but crap like this will be responded to.

Yes UK dabbled with the death penalty half a centery ago....UofL's indiscretion was in 1998.

If you guy don't want to talk about the cheating...then just don't start it.

GY,

Who doesn't know about this?

I accept and fully agree UK had some dark days in their past....it is the UofL fans who have trouble coming to terms with their own program's woes wherein NCAA infractions and the whole cheating thing is concerned.

Being as I have been married for 20 years and have raised 3 kids, it is especially troubling the pass you guys give Pitino for his indiscretion as it wasn't an NCAA violation.

A coach's personal life didn't matter to UK fans until convicted criminal Karen Sypher came along. And they still somehow don't grasp that he did nothing illegal (which is funny coming from the fanbase that champions the Coach Cal defense of "well, he was never found guilty of any wrongdoing by NCAA").

Thanks Steve, I couldn't have said it any better myself.

Typical UofL fans and their thoughts on morals and UofL Sports:

"I could care less what a person does in their personal life, just win ballgames. We ain't paying for a Priest. Were paying for a basketball coach. Abortion is LEGAL. Extortion and blackmail are not."

Steve, what an integrous statement. Funny how UK players and Coaches seem to be held to a different standard.......huh?

Or what about this jewel:

"And they still somehow don't grasp that he did nothing illegal (which is funny coming from the fanbase that champions the Coach Cal defense of "well, he was never found guilty of any wrongdoing by NCAA".

Incorrect comprehension still after all of these years Finley?

John Calipari WAS NEVER IMPLICATED. So I guess by default he was found innocent in advance of being charged with anything because their EXHAUSTIVE investigation found he (Cal) had been duped by these kids as well.........sounds kinda stupid when I say it that way, don't it.

You guys are just as silly as the yewkay fans you make fun of on a daily basis. So let's see if I got this straight:

*Cheating is OK as long as it's on your wife, but NCAA infractions are worthy of venomous scorn.

*Said NCAA Violations only count if your UK or Cal.

*Fantasy NCAA charges about John Calipari are factual in your brains.

*Because Marcus Camby took money from an agent, and Rose cheated on his exam...John Calipari should be forever deemed a cheater.......even though it has been proven over and over again he had no clue as to what was being done.

*Even though the NCAA never charged him with anything......UK hire Cal because he could cheat us back into a NC.....even though Sandy Bell and the compliance office scrutinizes his every bowel movement.

*Using players that cheated without your knowledge=recruiting violations by a HC

*Even though UofL Basketball nearly got the 1 year Death Penalty in 1998, you still deny it ever happened.

*Abortion is OK cuz it's legal....and because UofL is winning games.

*Cheating is OK as long as Denny Crum did it, or as long as you don't get caught.

*Bobby Petrino was an angel while at UofL...and somehow turned into a turd the day he left.

*It's OK to trash your Football Coach in public because he considers a job offer.

Ok....I'll stop now.
