THAT was UGLY!! The entire team looked like refugees from a Zombie movie! Can ANYONE shoot a free throw?? What happened to the defense? They all looked like they were intimidated by the 3,000 fans in the arena!
Geeeez.....

Permalink Reply by GO Yankees on January 23, 2013 at 10:19am I can tell it is mid January in Da Ville. As the temperature drops, so do the CARDS in the rankings. Happens every season. The mid January slump. How many times have we seen them dropped from the top 25 by the end of January, just to heat up again in February then move on to win the Big East Tourney?
As a life long CARDS fan, I have seen it happen time and time again, they got out played last night in aspect of the game. One thing I know, you learn more from losing than you do winning. Losing sucks, but it builds character (unless your name is Bill Belichick).
Ha ha ha!

GO CARDS!
Permalink Reply by Bobby P's Ghost on January 23, 2013 at 11:30am To be fair Yank - I don't know that Belichick has had much practice though, with Brady's career winding down, I'm guessing that he'll get more opportunities. With that said, I think the whole idea of essentially being forced to go out and give an interview after a crushing defeat is about as ridiculous as the faux sportsmanship that goes with the coaches post game, mid-field handshake. Just my opinion mind you.
Besides brother, your know your post is just opportunity for you to take a dig at anything Boston / New England related... (My Red Sox will rise again, I tell you!!)

Permalink Reply by GO Yankees on January 23, 2013 at 4:09pm I took a dig true enough and Belichick has been slammed worse than what I gave him foo shoo. Two paragraphs describing the annual Card's mid January slump is the focus of my post. Give me that Bro.

I understand how you feel. The Yankees finished small last season. They aren't looking to be fresh next season either so far. They haven't signed any new blood, took Youk from you guys and I'm still not sure how I feel about that, he ain't a spring chicken. Looks like they are destined to be the oldest team in the MLB again next season.
Cashman is the one that needs to go IMHO.

Permalink Reply by Bobby P's Ghost on January 24, 2013 at 1:39pm Unfortunately for them, they are tied to A-Rod, as his salary and no-trade makes him unmoveable. He has never been a good fit for them and I think that all of the constant negativity that has surrounded him has been a huge distraction for the team. With Jeter on the way out (even as a Sox fan, that will be a sad day) they need to figure out who they are going to build the team around. You would know better but it seems that person naturally would be Cano - is there a language barrier type of thing that would make it difficult for him to be the face of the Yankees once Jeter is gone?
I love Yooooooouk but you're right, he isn't getting any younger and his numbers have declined for a while. Still, like with Damon - there will be something decidedly wrong seeing him in pinstripes. I have always wondered why the Yankees have constantly thrown huge dollars at aging position players and neglected their pitching staff. Anyway, looking forward to baseball cranking up again.
Permalink Reply by GO Yankees on January 24, 2013 at 10:05pm You are right,
I love baseball. I hope Cano is not the face of the Bomber however. He can't read pitches all that well. Not finding a good replacement for Posada has hurt them immensely IMO. Yeah the bullpen is hurting, still hanging on to Hughes for what I don't know and I think that traded R. Soriano knowing that Mo can't come back.
Jeter is a legend but he is out and that is sad for baseball. I agree Youk is a Red Sox putting him in Da Bronx just goes against God's will Ha ha ha.
A lot of Yankees fans hate Giradi thinking things are his fault. I think he does pretty well all things considered.
I don't like the way Cashman runs the club.
