Ok then,

You do the prognosticating.

When the wealth is gone, and the Government is no longer able to sustain the practice of printing money we don't have, and the masses get hungry.....what happens next?

You like to reference Stalin and Hitler as if despotic tyrannical governments have not existed post WWII.

I suggest you look at more recent history for names such as  Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, Ceausescu, Ahmadinejad......the list could go on forever.

It kills me how naive some people can be. This Democracy is barely over 200 years old, a mere blip on the screen of documented history, and some of you want to act as if it can never be taken away. THAT line of thinking is what's crazy! What are you going to do if the trucks stop bringing milk and bread to the Kroger? How will you defend yourself if this happens? What if -0- declares Marshall Law?

I disagree with you. I don't own an assault rifle, but I will be getting one asap,

To protect myself from the 47% which will likely become 67% within the next 4 years, and the decisions that will be made based on the horrible policies of this administration....which I doubt are in the best interest of people like myself.

I am not insecure about my personal safety, I am insecure about what people like you (uninformed) want to do to this country.

Never, since the civil war, has this population felt so divided that the majority are arming themselves for the coming conflict.

Poverty is coming, and poverty makes people do really bad things.......history has taught us this.

As for me.....I will be prepared.

General Stanley Mcchrystal stated that "Assault rifles are for the battlefields, not schools." Additionally he said that the sale of assault weapons and the multi firing clips should be banned from sale in the general population. There is no imaginary Stalin running amok in the U.S. coming for anyone's hunting rifles or handguns. That is just paranoid and crazy.

If you are insecure about your personal safety when walking the streets or in your own home, I suggest taking a course in hand to hand combat. It will enhance your self confidence, and relax your trigger finger.

Really,

Have you read of the Whiskey Rebellion which began in 1791?, or the Paint Creek Mine Wars of 1883, great examples of Marshall Law enactments. Put a read on that and get back to me on my naivety. Founding fathers actually opposed a standing militia during times of piece according to the constitution. Standing armies were limited to a national guard militia of a two year term reserving to the states individually .Defense of the state, not against the state. The government reserves the right to confiscate guns when used to rise against the state according to the state should one read the constitution in it's entirety . If you want revolution, start a peaceful revolution, read your history or go to the movie theater and watch Les Miserables, the only successful revolutions throughout history have been peaceful, sitting revolutions. The Boston Tea Party was noted as "One of the quietest nights on the Boston Harbor."

One more thing, Hitler actually encouraged the ownership of guns contrary to popular belief.

So you are totally ignoring the point of the comment.

Marshall Law is to be deployed in emergency situation, and as a temporary measure only.

The person in office today has shown his disregard for democracy with the passing of his Healthcare Mandate which is one of the reasons why he is not trusted as the Commander and Chief. While you think it is a stretch that this mystery person would employ the use of force in an undemocratic fashion, many don't agree.

Standing militia in today's world would be the National Guard.

Make no mistake, the revolution has already started....the 47% have taken charge........we are just preparing for the anarchy which will surely ensue.

Yes we have all seen historical documentation of him arming the jews, now haven't we.

Stanley McChrystal? Wasn't he relieved of duty?

We are all indentured consumers of the 1%. Our cities, states and nations are in debt to the banks, corporations and industrialists. We no longer own utility companies, prisons and the like, more and more they are privately held. Cities are bankrupt, unions have been busted, police and firefighters who are lucky enough to still have a job work for much less pay and their numbers have been cut so that their jobs put them at much higher risk.

Leona Helmsly said "Only little people pay taxes." Wake up people, think for yourself while it is still legal.

Your choice of screen names is not a big point - just one that I found interesting.  Whether or not I believe that the names you choose for yourself are indicative of whom you are - clearly you do.  You've chosen to project an image of a Big Truth telling Hunter.  Clearly these aren't "random" as you profess - otherwise you might just as easily go by Stinky842.  Clearly you aren't very self-aware, which is why thoughts like this seem "stupid" to you.  But I digress...

It's fascinating that you think that I am the one with the distorted view of our government.  I believe that our government - admittedly while failing on numerous occasions - has the goal of making the country better for its citizens.  After all, that's what a representative democracy is all about - fellow citizens elected to represent the people.  You however, seem to feel that the government is always plotting on how they can steal your rights and money and if given the chance, would turn America into a socialist or fascist state.  But in your world, my version is the crazy one.

There's a pretty big difference between the militia you reference during the time of the 2nd Amendment - those people banded together to fight a foreign invading force.  What you advocate, is a militia that bands together to fight Americans.  #1, the 2nd Amendment was written before the advent of a professional and sustained national military and, #2, the "well regulated militia" they reference, is called the National Guard.  Unless you and your buddies are performing covert missions in Afghanistan, it is those groups who have been charged to protect America - not you.

I certainly appreciate the sacrifices of those who died for our rights; however you would have me appreciate the sacrifices of those children who died for YOUR right to wave a gun around.

What is your answer to why the public can't own a surface to air missile?  Was that just the first step in the government's plan to take your shotgun?  Or is that too difficult a question for you to understand?  Gen. McChrystal (if you don't know who he is - look it up) said in an interview last night, that we should "take a very serious look at why we would even have (military weapons) around in the general public"

I guess he is just another "poor bleeding heart liberal tree hugger, (with) Pelosi posters in (his) bedroom and, you are the real patriot...

Hey BobbyPghost.....mr Big/Hunter/Truth etc are all just a posting name, not some names that I expect YOU to believe are actually a trait or a image of what I am, or who I am, its just a random name... Or am I supposed to believe that YOU really are the Ghost of Bobby P.    See how stupid your thnking is?

As you said above, there is NO meeting ground for you and I on this topic, we will never be on the same page about this, maybe only about the team we root for. I tire of fighting with you and your Walt Disney make believe view of our Government and some of our leaders. I bet "Dream Weaver" is one of your favorite songs.

Oh and what Militia do I fight for you ask, the same Militia that the 2nd admendment was written for, the American Patriot, the Farmer, worker, the every day Joe that took up arms whan it was necessary and protected our homeland, our Freedom, and our Families. It is a shame that YOU cannot see that they even fought and died for YOUR rights too bub.

And you knew exactly what I meant when I said that I fear they will finally come after EVERY one of  our guns. I didn't imply that I had several outlawed guns, I mean even down to the 38 revolvers, the 22 pistols, the 20 guage shotgun......once they start they MAY not stop. But maybe that was too simple for your mind to understand.

You poor bleeding heart liberal tree hugger, I hope you and your Pelosi posters in your bedroom have a good nights rest.   What a FOOL

For insubordination? For disrespect of the Commander and Chief President Obama.  Go figure. Does that imply that everyone that disrespects The President is wrong about everything. I don't agree with everything the President signs onto, (The NDAA is one example), but while I was enlisted, I never publicly disrespected the President who at the time was J.Carter.

Aw damn Creek, just when we were getting to be friends and all...

I'll try to answer you in order.

Paranoia

1. A mental disorder characterized by systematized delusions and the projection of personal conflicts, which are ascribed to the supposed hostility of others, sometimes progressing to disturbances of consciousness and aggressive acts believed to be performed in self-defense or as a mission.

2. A baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others.

No offense, but those definitions seem to be spot on.  Though we didn't have this conversation years ago, my guess is that your belief in the impending doom was not as heightened during Bush's terms.  Who knows though?  Maybe you're part Mayan, and doom has always been your thing.

You might want to remember during your next rant about "left-wing zealots" wanting more of your tax money; there has never been a time in history where a republican led government reduced spending.  In fact, it was under that left-wing zealot - Bill Clinton - who you all just couldn't wait to impeach, that this country was last in the black.  The government running out of money got a great push from W and his unfunded forays into the middle east.  I also don't seem to recall any "tea party" talk until a black dude was elected.  Hmmm...

As discussed before - you only get to Mitt's magic 47% by including veterans and the elderly.  If you think that those groups trended toward Obama, you aren't really paying attention.  Further food for thought - even with voter suppression efforts set aside - it is minorities and others at the bottom of the economic food chain (the takers in your world) who don't vote.  You can delude yourself all that you want however the truth is that - using your math - it was the 53% that elected Obama.

Despot - "an absolute or tyrannical ruler; autocrat or tyrant".

Please tell me how Obama, who has behaved more like a moderate republican while in office than a radical liberal, qualifies as a despot?  Who's being hyperbolic now?  (Hint, it's you)  Before you pull your hole card and say, Affordable Care Act, please remember that, as is any other law, was passed by Congress and only signed into law by Obama.  While you're at it, remember that it wouldn't have passed without republican support AND, it was judged to be constitutional by a conservative Supreme court.  Can it be possible that you are smarter than all of those folks?

And just so I understand, you are going on record as saying that 1900-1950 were better in America than 1950-2000?  Hmmmm...

Lastly, you'll have to forgive me but, I'm not going to address your silly straw man arguments regarding cars, doctors and beer - that really is a line of reasoning that I think you are above.  To be interested in figuring out a way to prevent more senseless deaths from gun violence is not drinking the kool-aid.  I personally am glad that I can't disregard events like Sandy Hook as cavalierly as you and Hunter.

So I really don't care to get in to political debates here, but I just have to comment on this statement:

"Because some gun owners have a paranoid fear of a possible dystopic future in America, we are prevented from addressing our ACTUAL dystopic present."

Please explain the use of "paranoid" in this quote.

50 years ago we did not live in a welfare state, common sense would dictate that our welfare system in this country is broken and has lead to the decline of our civilization.

When people like myself claim that we are "taxed enough already" the left wing zealots pass us off as crazy people. I pay my taxes like everybody else.......I just think I pay enough. If this country wants more from me then they will have to reform themselves and show some fiduciary responsibility.

IT IS OUR MONEY......NOT THEIRS!

Secondly.....with the decline seen over the last 50 years, combined with the despotic leader we now have courtesy of the 47%,

WHY WOULD YOU THINK OUR FEARS ARE IRRATIONAL?

We are currently living in a dystopic society based on the decisions made by these 47%.....what makes you think the trajectory for the next 50 years will be any better than the last 50, which were so negatively impacted by liberal agendas such as yours?

You have every right to disagree with us, and with the lessons history has tried to teach you, but I do take offense to the language used. Your fearless leader has already limited the purchase of ammunition, and he will be going after the guns.

Now the real naivety is shown by those who feel the government wants to control guns purely because of the recent rash of mass murders........they are fooling themselves. Should be next ban cars? Ban Beer? Ban Doctors and Hospitals? The situation at Sandy Hook just played into the fears of the KoolAid drinking public, and your fearless leader (not mine) will take advantage of it in a big way.

The 2nd Amendment is there for a reason and we are living the circumstances our founding fathers most feared.

Even though I think Hunter/Mr.Big is a despicable example of a human being.......I would stand next to him and defend his right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of all things true to this country.....especially his right to defend himself from the 47% and their agenda.

And yes..........."FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS"

So the point of your comment is,

Because the Affordable Care Act was passed by Congress as every other law has been AND, because Obama signed it into law as is the last step per the Constitutional for a bill to become a law AND, because the conservative Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act as constitutional - Obama isn't and shouldn't be, trusted as Commander in Chief.

Wow.  I've seen salt water taffy made and those machines have got nothing on your logic.

Obama is a mysterious person?  I knew that you people still existed but, it's fascinating to speak with a real, live birther.  It's like stumbling on a Japanese soldier still hiding in a cave in the 50's.

So you're preparing for the oncoming anarchy are you?  You're on your way to buy your assault rifle and then what?  Buy some creamed corn and build a bunker?  My question is, when the government is unable to print money anymore, then everyone will be poor because money won't have any value - it won't be the 47%, it will be the 100%.  What will you do with your assault rifle then?  Rob and steal things from others?

More interestingly, what are your plans for the Zombie Apocalypse?

That's Stanley's opinion. Just him being insubordinant, shows what kind of loose cannon he is. You held his opinion in such high esteem....why? Just because he is or was a General? And No...doesn't mean he was wrong about everything...but that is his opinion and there are lots of others who disagree. I also never publicly disrepsected the president( any 4 of them).I also don't believe people should have assualt weapons. I don't have one but the 2nd amendment is a right to bear arms.
