I posted this on the Nomads and decided to add it to this side, too.

I really expected FL to win against UK on their home floor; they really play good defense and were better on offense. I was hoping that we had a chance to make a comeback or narrow the score and then Noel went down and I do have to admit that I cried. No, I did not shed tears because of the game but just thought how awful it would be if the injury is serious enough to end this talented young man's basketball career. I do not know the status of his family but I would imagine that they are looking forward to the money that he would get as an NBA player and how it would change their lives, hopefully, for the better. I have not heard an update on his injury and pray that it will not keep him from reaching his NBA dream. I am well aware of the value of a good education; I am, also, well aware of how long it would take him to make millions of dollars once he got a degree. I really put a lot of thought into this and I have to say that tonight I fully understand why a talent, such as Noel, would want to be a one and done. Players can always go back to school if they really want a degree; however, they cannot be assured of playing BB more years, stay free of injuries and be drafted by the NBA. UK basketball will be fine, I just pray that Noel will be fine and able to fulfill his NBA dream.

Best of luck for a speedy recovery to the young man. Thank goodness he can still finish his degree IF the injury is career ending.

An education can take you far in life even if the body can not allow you to play basketball.

Yes, I do see an awful lot of the Blue posting giddy remarks when a UL player injury occurs....

THAT is a shame...

However, I hope like hell that his season is over just so the little puss fans can see how it is to lose one of your best players and have to try to salvage a season. It happens at UofL all to often, yet the kitty fans still loved to bash. By the way, UofL usually picked up the pieces and finished their years very respectable.

BluSu,

I agree an education is something that an injury (outside of brain of course), can never be taken away from a young athlete. I am always saddened to see a college athlete injured obviously because it happens very often to University of Louisville players, (Bridgewater, Perry, Dieng, Siva, Blackshear, nuff said).

I think that even if NN is out the rest of this season, perhaps he could come back and play for you guys next season. That would greatly benefit the Cats and NN considering he would be coming back with a season of experience. IMO it helped TJones.

As far as one and dones, the capitalist in me thinks that players who are good enough for the NBA coming out of high school should have the fiscal freedom to go into the draft and make their money. I agree with you, they always have the opportunity to pay for a college education if they decide to go back. This is an example of why. This young man is forced by the NCAA, which isn't a government agency, but acts as if it is, restricting the fiscal freedom of these young athletes. Now NN's financial future may be significantly affected. The NCAA does not serve the interests of young athletes IMO, but serves the interests of the universities who make millions on the backs of their student athletes.

With all of that said, I wish NN a speedy recovery but remember, all is not lost, when one door closes, another one opens.

Bluie, I am sure that you have heard that Noel has an ACL tear and will not be playing BB for six or more months.  I am so glad that his NBA career should not be hurt as I am hearing that he should still be a top five pick.  We will sure miss him and I don't think that our guys will win many games with him gone.  I should be optimistic and say that our team will dedicate the rest of the season to Noel and play their best games; however, I really do not expect that to happen.  No matter how we finish this year, I am just glad that Noel should still be able to reach his dream.

Very well said, Su. Thank you. I wanted to cry too, when I heard him screaming. I heard the screams before the camera ever showed him. I was hoping it wasn't him, but it was. He may be done at UK, but lets hope and pray that he will be able to play in the future. I'm thinking it may have been a dislocated knee cap. But, it may be worse, because he has had knee problems before. What a terrible thing to happen. And, it was on a hustle play! What a great young man!

Card, the most bashing on this site is against UK and you should know that. For your info, UK fans don't care if our season is over, our main concern is that Noel will heal and be able to fulfill his NBA dream.  We have enough banners hanging to keep us happy for a long time.  As usual, your cla$$ is showing.

CC, please copy some of those remarks showing UK posted hateful remarks about a UL player's injury. Since I have never seen them, I would like to see what was said and by whom.

GY, appreciate your post and praying that Noel will be able to fulfill his dream. From what I heard today, he should be able to play for the NBA and I heard that he could still be a top five pick. I don't think that he will be at UK next year; you are right about Jones, as he sure improved his play by staying another year. BTW, I really loved Jones as he seemed to have so much fun at UK, really a good kid. Also, today, I heard of so many good things that Noel did off the court in visiting and cheering up kids that were sick.

I agree that if a player is good enough to play pro sports when they leave high school, they should be allowed to play. The NCAA needs to rethink a lot of their rules; doubt that will happen in the near future.

I do feel that our season will suffer, however, the important thing is for this fine young man to heal and be able to follow his dream. We UK fans have many years to watch ballgames;  I think that most BB fans would agree with me; if not they need to rethink their priorities.

I'll hope for the best for NN....but I for one hope Boy Toy Jones gets run over by a bus on his way home to the Highlands today...

NN seems to be a stand up guy while Boy Toy Jones is a coward wearing girls underdrawers and hiding between Moms legs.

Did Cards really say that about you Saint Bluie???? If so then Cards is a higher class UL fan than I even thought before. He hit the nail right on the head.  YOU are what's wrong with this board. You Benny Hinn hairdo, Rev Ike loud mouthed  hypocrite

I am not about to spend time doing what you can do for yourself! Simply go back in the pages of this Forum and read what UK fans posted when UL was going thru it's string of player injuries and read what Fake Cops and HillJacks posted with glee about those kids misfortunes...not to mention how Pitino was killing them all in practice to cause the injuries!

You admit you have been absent from this board for sisx months. I joined this board less than 2 months ago and I have read the nastiest thing about UL and it's supporters second only to Matt Boy Toy Jones pie hole puke.

Get a life and crawl down off the cross...we could all use the wood...

CC,

That is true I remember a lot of people getting on Coach Pitino saying that he made the players practice too hard and that was the reason for all of the injuries. Some even eluded to Karma for leaving the hallowed halls of UK. I remember being mocked when Siva went down along with that bad run last season. If someone wants to challenge me, I have a bad cold today and called in. Got some time today and just might look that stuff up.

Therein lies the problem CC. I do not respond to you as if you were Mr.Big, I respond to you based on merit. I respond to everybody on this site based upon their merit which I have derived from reading their posts. If any of you think I'm harsh.....I probably think I have a good reason to be.

You seem to group all of us UK guys in with this Grover caricature.

You make inflammatory (see flame), and many times untrue statements about UK and its fan base, based upon your opinion which is not supported by fact on many occasions. I

I merely try to enlighten you as to the real facts.
