Billy G was at the Helm when Camara played at UK and he had a DUI during the time he was on the team. Not surprised, it's not like Billy G. was sober as a judge either. Ha ha ha.
Camara, 33, was arrested Thursday in Lexington on a warrant after an acquaintance alleged in a criminal complaint that Camara took a gun from him in October and did not return it. The friend allegedly tried repeatedly to retrieve the gun, according to a Fayette District court document.
The drug-paraphernalia charge was filed after police allegedly found a metal pipe used for smoking crack cocaine in Camara's coat pocket, according to court files.
Camara was in the Fayette County jail at 8 a.m. Friday morning. He is scheduled to go to court at 1 p.m.
Camara has had previous legal troubles. He was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol in 2000 while on the University of Kentucky team. He also pleaded guilty to DUI in 2010 and to reckless driving and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in 2008, according to court records.
He played for the Cats from 1999 to 2000 and from 2002 to 2003, according to the university's athletic records
